About American Society of Baking and our Websites
ASB believes in the privacy of member and non-member users of its Websites and is committed to the responsible use of any information provided online. Modern information and communication technologies play a fundamental role in the activities of the American Society of Baking.
Our principal activitiy is to promote advancement of baking science technology through the exchange of information and interaction among baking industry professionals. We maintain most of our society's information and events on our Websites.
Information Collected and Use of Information
Use of some of our website’s features may require you to give us contact information (your name, e-mail and/or physical address, etc.). We may use the contact information to send you information about ASB news, programs or events within the wholesale baking industry.
When you make payments for Membership dues or fees from the Website(s), we need to know your name, billing address, credit card number, and expiration date. This allows us to process and fulfill your payment request.
This site links to other sites. The American Society of Baking is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Websites. We will not pass your information along to the linked site; however, we cannot protect your information if you provide information to that site.
Members of ASB may choose to make their profiles private or public. If the Member chooses private, their information is not available to anyone else. If they choose public, then their personal profile information is available for viewing by other Members who have logged in. Anyone viewing the personal profile of ASB Members are not able to change that information. The ASB Member has full control of how their information is shared/not shared.
Protection of Information
When you make payments online, we use a secure server. This secure server software, SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) encrypts all information you input before it is sent to us. Passwords are stored in encrypted form. Furthermore, all of the data we collect is protected against unauthorized access by our ISP (Information Service Provider) through firewalls.
