Career Employee Scholarship Information
To provide financial support for wholesale baking company employees who are pursuing additional training in engineering, maintenance or machine operations at a trade school, vocational institution, college or university.
A maximum of five scholarships in the amount of $4,000 will be awarded each year. Scholarships will be allocated by $2,000 per semester and will be revoked if the student discontinues their educational program. Scholarships can only be used for future tuition. Scholarship funds will be issued directly to the university or trade/vocational institution.
Conditions of Eligibility
Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
Must be currently employed in the industry.
Must have been accepted for admission into a college/university or a trade school/vocational program.
Must be working as an engineer, machinist, or maintenance employee.
Must become a student member of ASB (Free Student Membership).
Must commit to attending ASB BakingTech Annual Conference in Chicago, February 25-27, 2018 (complimentary registration, transportation and housing).
Applicants must meet the above criteria.
Complete the application form.
Submit a letter of recommendation from your direct supervisor.
Submit official school transcript (if currently enrolled).
Application and supporting documents must be mailed/emailed by June 1, 2017.
ASB’s Student Task Force will select Scholarship recipients on the basis of academic goals, career objectives and commitment to the wholesale baking industry. Selections will be made and recipients notified by July 1, 2017.
