Career Employee Scholarship Information
To provide financial support for wholesale baking company employees who are pursuing additional training in engineering, maintenance or machine operations at a trade school, vocational institution, college or university.
A maximum of five scholarships in the amount of $4,000 will be awarded each year. Scholarships will be allocated by $2,000 per semester and will be revoked if the employee discontinues their educational program or their employment. Scholarships can only be used for future tuition. Scholarship funds will be issued directly to the university or trade/vocational institution.
Conditions of Eligibility
Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
Must be working as an engineer, machinist, or maintenance employee in the wholesale baking industry.
Must have been accepted for admission into a college/university or a trade school/vocational program.
Must become a student member of ASB before applying (Free Student Membership).
Must commit to attending ASB BakingTech Annual Conference in Chicago, March 1-3, 2020 (complimentary registration, transportation and housing).
Applicants must meet the above criteria.
Complete the application form and answer the essay questions.
Submit a letter of recommendation from your direct supervisor.
Submit official school transcript (if currently enrolled).
Application and supporting documents must be mailed/emailed by the deadline of June 1, 2019.
ASB’s Student Task Force will select Scholarship recipients on the basis of academic goals, career objectives and commitment to the wholesale baking industry. Selections will be made and recipients notified by July 1, 2019.
