Founded in 2001, VRSim delivers training systems that increase the overall effectiveness of training programs in the industrial and manufacturing trades.
In 2005, VRSim completed development on its first 3D virtual reality welding training system (SimWelder). After an enthusiastic response to its introduction at FabTech, SimWelder was globally adopted by the US Army, Volvo, the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction, and many others.
In 2008, the SimWelder technology was acquired by The Lincoln Electric Company to provide the foundation for Lincoln's new VRTEX 360 virtual reality arc welding trainer. Powered by VRSim, the VRTEX 360 trains welders faster, lowers training cost and helps recruit future welders.
In 2011, VRSim completed development of SimSpray, a virtual reality training system for spray painting and coatings. Over 250 SimSpray systems have been sold worldwide.
With its newest training system, SimBuild, VRSim continues the mission of delivering valued driven training systems to develop the skills of today's machinists and manufacturing workers.
The focus of the presentationwill be on the uses of virtual reality and simulation in education and industrial settings. It will include some discussion about the underlying design philosophy of simulation and some anecdotal and empirical evidence of its effectivess.
VRSim will also provide a multi station virtual realty imemersive and simulation experience for all attendees on Monday and Tuesday.
