Job Description:

The Plant Manager directs, manages the production related activities for 3 shifts, 7 days/week of a one line frozen bagels bakery.  The primary responsibility is to ensure that all company food quality, food safety, food legality, line efficiencies and product wastes; service and safety levels are met or exceeded on a consistent basis. The plant manager will assist other departments in recommending and implementing methods to improve product safety, quality, processes and overall plant efficiency on an ongoing basis. 

Minimum Requirements:

  • Positive and Engaging.
  • Lead by example.
  • Bi-lingual Spanish preferred.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Must understand people and be able to communicate effectively with them.
  • Show self-control at all-time especially in stressful situations.
  • Extremely organized and detailed oriented.
  • Ability to manage and lead staff to excellent performance.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Quick thinker, solution oriented and results driven.
  • Working use of basic math and reading skills.
  • Great working knowledge of FDA, State and USDA regulation or equivalent.
  • "Hands on" management style.
  • Excellent communication and team building skills.
  • Knowledge of GFSI or other quality body certification standards.
  • Self-directed.
  • Ability to work a varied schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Ability to train, coach direct reports.

Additional Requirements:

  • A High School or equivalent. BA in Business Management or BS in Food precessing a plus.
  • 10 years of commercial bakery experience.
  • 5 years of management experience in a commercial bakery environment.
